What is RSS?

RSS is a format for delivering regularly changing web content. Many news-related sites, blogs and other online publishers syndicate their content via RSS. An RSS link is better known as an RSS feed.

Why Use RSS?

RSS makes it easy for readers to follow specific sites which are of interest to them. Time is saved by not having to constantly check different websites to see if new conent has been added.

Also, receiving content via RSS ensures privacy as RSS does not require a login or email address. When you no long wish to receive the information, you simply delete the RSS feed.

How Do I Use RSS?

Many web-based and desktop RSS clients are freely available. To find out more about these google 'rss client'. Also all major email clients, for example Thunderbird and Windows Live Mail, have the ability to download RSS feeds.

There are many different email clients available. Do a google search to find out how to add RSS links to your email client, eg 'how to setup Thunderbird rss' or 'how to setup “Windows Live Mail” rss'.
